“I am standing on the edge of returning or just running away…I am letting myself look the other way…”
Yukari Takeba, headstrong, stubborn, worry-wart, cares too much for her own good, fearful, loving.
Yukari is a frail girl, easily hurt by others, and is always looking for the best in her friends, ignoring their faults. She has a strong sense of Justice, and even though she had a feeling the Kirijo corporation had something to do with her fathers death, she did her best to ignore it, because Mitsuru was her friend, and she didn’t want to hold any grudges towards her friend for their fathers actions.
“And the hardest part in all of this is I don’t think I know my way back home. Is it worth the journey or do I let my heart settle here?”
Yukari learned at a very young age that she would never get along with her mother. So she had turned to her father for that motherly love she had never gotten. Her father was her comforter, the person she’d run to when the thunder and lightning got too frightening, and he would just hold her until she stopped crying, and would tuck her in with a bed-time story. When she lost him, she lost her comfort, and a major part of who she was. She didn’t know how to cope with it, and with S.E.E.S she felt that she could help stop what took her father from her, and in her mind, somehow that would help to bring him back. But he could never come back. Death is too permanent.
“How cold have I become? I didn’t want to lose you by what I’d done, caught in the grey!”
All her teenage years, since her father had passed away, Yukari had made it an effort to do things she know would make him proud. That was her goal in life. In trying to do this she became colder, and only focused on what could make him proud. She was pressured to join S.E.E.S, and had such a hard time accepting the evoker and her persona and how it would change her fathers opinion of her, that she couldn’t even use it when her life was in danger.
“I don’t want to look you in the eyes, you might call me away. I don’t want to give you the chance to make me stay.”
Then she met Minato. The boy who changed everything. Changed her.
- She was dating Minato before he gave himself to save her and the others. She’s still fairly withdrawn about it, and tends to lash out when coaxed to talk about how she feels. Otherwise, she’s the same old Yukari before the battle with Nyx. (Stolen from ArcherTakeba.)
